Business in Virtual Worlds

Virtual Worlds and Medical Training

Over at Scienceroll.com – a blog written by a medical student about Web 2.0 and its impact on genetics and medicine – the author draws attention to America’s Army and Forterra Systems as great examples of virtual world training environments for the medical community.

For companies not able to afford the licenses of Forterra and others, Second Life and other platforms offer relatively cheap opportunities for prototyping.

The next wave will be open source platforms such as those I’ve covered previously like Sollipsis, the Open Life Grid and Ogoglio, among others.
