An event with a more philosophical bent will take place this Friday, February 8 at Emerson College in Boston.
The panel discussion titled “Immersion, Presence, and Place” will be hosted by Eric Gordon and feature artists who are working with Second Life as a medium. John Craig Freeman, Usman Haque, and Pierre Proske, among others, will join in the discussion either at the college, online, or through Second Life.
A major theme of the panel will be the “limits of reality,” according to Gordon.
“Where does the physical end?” he asks in the announcement. “Where does the human end? And, where does the real end?”
A vibrant discussion about mixed realities and how place takes shape and has meaning in people’s lives is guaranteed.
