No Ice Cream Until You Clean Up Your Assets

For the, hmmm….10th day? 100th? An eternity?…well, for the 1,000th time, Linden Lab has had issues with their asset servers to the point where the grid has gone down for hours.

I’d post a link to their quality metrics page, which recently reported on an abysmal April but the site is down.

I believe it’s this week or next that M Linden joins the team. What beautiful timing. I imagine the first staff meeting:

“Hi team, very excited to be here. Give me a pulse of things, how is everything?”

“Um, well, we can’t seem to keep the grid stable for more than 3 or 4 hours. We’ve been having to shut down transactions, group IMs, and a bunch of other things during peak concurrency. The asset servers are totally borked. Our quality metrics have fallen off a cliff. Premium accounts are down. But we have new mainland!”

“Um. Great. I’m headed back to Organic.”
