Give a vote for the metaverse as a serious science and technology topic! Or, at least, vote for me just because you feel like voting aimlessly for something. Or vote for the competition. Doesn’t matter really, I don’t even know who these guys are, but somehow I got picked up as a nominee for the “Best Canadian Science or Technology Blog”.
Who knew there WAS such a thing. And who knew there were other Canadians out there blogging on things like, um, climate audits. (Weather is very important to us up here, I suppose, to the point we need to audit it).
Now, I always thought of myself as very global, or worldly, or virtual worldly…it doesn’t matter that you’re snow-bound half the year, no one needs to know from whence you log-in – you know, the “no one knows you’re a dog on the Net” theory. But my delusion was destroyed when someone commented that I said the word “about” as “aboot” at a Metanomics thing, which has me wondering whether I should now refuse anything but text events.
In any case, I feel distinctly honoured that somehow they a) tracked down I was Canadian and b) think that a blog about stuff that no one understand really is worth putting on a list with other stuff that no one understands and that c) they have such a stunning Canadian-like Wordpress template on which to host this little weird award.
Where is Canada? Is that somewhere in the outer space world the grups are always talking about?
Voting for someone just because he isn’t Stephen Harper isn’t voting aimlessly! *waves from Yonge & Eg*
Icha.
Hahaha good point Ichabod.
Geez, Canadians popping out of the woodwork all over the place. We need a little SL meet & greet in Toronto sometime like all those weenies in New York do. (Oops, I just showed the typically Canadian inferiority complex).
*voted* Interesting list of blogs!
If you win, we’ll have to hit up Timmies to celebrate ;D
