Bettina Tizzy has a report on Brooklyn Is Watching, the in-world/out-world art project that occurs simultaneously in SL and in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. BIW, which has just passed its first-year milestone, has announced the Best of BIW 1, a two-month long festival spanning part of three sims and the space at the Jack The Pelican Presents gallery, as well as artist talks, panel discussions, and some art shows.

The 30 ‘best’ art works will be shown over this period, with five being chosen by a panel of judges (including Bettina) out of which one will be crowned winner, earning the coveted ‘golden eyeball’ award. Bettina was able to sit down with Jay Newt (Jay Van Buren) for an interview where he talks about the installation and how it has impacted himself and the gallery.
