Well, no, it won’t – but then again, Second Life isn’t the same as it was a month ago, let alone a few years ago when I first logged on and crossing a sim border was a hazardous affair.
But join us at Metanomics on Thursday September 17th, 12:00 SLT, for an inside look at this possible addition to the Second Life tool kit: what is a mesh import? What kinds of tools will people use to create mesh objects? What are the pros and cons for how content looks and is created? How will this impact the Second Life economy?
We’ll be joined at the Metanomics Community forum by Reed Steamroller, who had a wonderful post on the topic over at his company’s blog.
This is all well and good, but before we get too excited, has LL set a timeline for this yet? And on a side note, is the shadows thing still slated to be windows only?
SL needs mesh imports, but it’s not here yet. And T Linden wasn’t able to say when it would be either.
I think it would benefit the lab to fix texture loading, alphas and regular prims too.
