Boeing, one of the world's most successful makers of airplanes and defense systems, has launched a virtual manufacturing center.
The center, which cost $1.2 million to open, is a public-private partnership with the local Port Authority in Heath-Newark-Licking County, Ohio. It is estimated that the center will bring 30 to 60 jobs to the area.
The center will mostly be focused on creating virtual manufacturing prototypes of items the company will build. Boeing can share the prototypes with other offices around the country and around the world, helping to enhance collaboration and teamwork.
