I just had to share this – Cube linked it from the comments here and elsewhere and if there was a vision for a future I am NOT interested in, well, this is pretty much it. Although the help on how to make a cup of tea could be useful.

Hmmm….do you think the MediaAPI will let us do that thing in with all the status-y boxes and stuff?
As i noted to other posts..
its the best and the worst thing Ive seen all week.
The person who made it has some other pieces, they are also worth a look, none are as powerful as this one though.
ironically, cnet/terra nova ran an interview with bruce damer and angled at the “Jim Cameron invented the AVATAR and future of VR” pop press angle thats just more fodder for the machine.
It of course was repackaged “Minority Report” futurm banter playing at “news”. Ok maybe just as blog…lol but Im not the one calling blogs – journalism:).
But with Google pantenting more and more “ideas” such as “projecting ads over a AR google maps”….dont kid yourselves, the future of all plugged in messages being supreme court protected ads and corporately created only to “speak” for those who can pay to play…is the future youre all praising;)
Gotta laugh at this weeks other bing tech news…
the iPAd.. whose keyboard only comes with the letters “C, O, N , S , U, M , E”
yes, Steve Jobs “got the goods”…
ZOMG. This response Cube – I finally get it!
Whole Earth. The tools of technology can democratize, get us off the ‘grid’, we’ll all hang out at Stanford and re-invent the world together – except, well, we didn’t, because someone realized you could do an IPO, which doesn’t mean Mitch Kapor and the gang don’t sit around sipping chai lattes and saying “soon, soon, our vision that the tools can be in everyone’s hands and NOT the corporations will come true sooooon (just need to cash out my options first).
Finally, everything makes sense. You’re a whole earth digital hippie.
BTW – if you’re so much for the democratization of the tools, why do you have such a hate-on for blogs, and why do you spend so much time on them?
what are you talking about? kapor and chai? stanford? me a hippie? anti commercial? If anything im pure first gen X. Your seeing me as a binary object. Your spending too much time trying to explain software/ tech;)
as to blogs.
1.I dont spend much time on them, only a few touching on media and its affects on society. All i offer is the balance of ideas thats comes from past experiences that many no longer can believe happened. But that is the effect of the blog culture. The fallicy of everything lasting forever on the net(last line of the teaser for Rushkoffs Frontline next week) will soon be everyones experience as well, but youll have to get there yourself.:)
2. tools produce an object. Mediums produce a society-culture. I have no hate for a “blog”/ but 100 “blogs” can destroy a “professions” journalism and its history, and leave only temporary noise and gossip.
Yes. People creating Stories is wonderful, And last time i checked every afluent Victorian had a diary….
but thank god we didnt have to read them all in High School. A culture of editing and professionalism left us with Shakespeare,
What do you think the “net tech” culture will leave us?
Show me your top net creative 10, weve had 40 years, point us to the active creative net urls….?
The internets best 10 from 40 years?
The best stories… the best visions… the stuff that informs us as humanity…
the answers/ examples you find is our “culture” wouldnt you agree?
maybe thats what Im getting at:)
interesting challenge eh?
c3
actually Cube, you’re just a troll living in the past, and you abused Dusan’s patience way too much

Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.
Yes Sphere, and youre exactly like the the shape you claim. An infinitely empty shell, with no surface definitions or character.
sad.
See how far down the rabbit hole we’ve gone? Cube and Sphere shouting insults. I remember how Square and Circle used to go at it back in Flatland…
lol
with the extra dimension I got “sharp”…sorry to say, circle got “dulled”
cube
\but i was “serious” about the “TOP 10″ lets call them Creative cultural artifacts of the “net”.
and their listing, an act for all to try.
I have a suspicion that as a mass media of creative art “virtual worlds” will be found to have a very difficult road ahead. But as to my reasoning ill let the listers maybe figure out why.
