03.06.09This is What Virtual Worlds Feel Like (to Me)Bettina Tizzy, Goddess of the Grid, seeker of the impossibilities and, through them, the possibilities for spirit, art, and the future of virtual worlds brings us the following video, pointed out to HER by Tezcatlipoca Bisiani. She titles the post "This is What Second Life Should Be (and sometimes is)." And she's right. Regardless of whether it is or not, it's certainly how it FEELS to me: a place where, through raw acts of imagination, the worlds that are being built are home to our expressions of self. 08.05.08Metaverse Master Tour by Gary HayesA fairly incredible video overview showing the range of virtual world platforms. Incredible both for the time it must have taken to compile and edit, but also for being able to remember the avatar names and passcodes for each of the visited environments. (OK, sorry, had to put that in....it's a running pet peeve of mine that technology hasn't yet given me an easy, secure way of not needing to register and reregister, remember and...well, you get the idea, and don't get me started on LiveID and openID, I'm just saying).
