First came news that the Department of Homeland Security is developing a virtual social network that its employees will use for training and taking courses. Then, the Mixed Realities blog makes the case that government interest in virtual worlds is accelerating, but that the government will face the same hurdles as non-profits, universities, etc. in implementing virtual environments.
